About Us

Welcome to our farm! We started keeping animals ten years ago in order to have affordable, high quality food for our family. We started with a flock of chickens, followed by a milk cow. We keep just enough chickens now to supply our family with eggs. Next we started a beef herd, with a goal of selling grass fed beef. Our practice is to own our beef animals for their whole life, so that we know that they are shot free. Most recently we added pigs to our farm.
We raise beef regeneratively. What does that mean? It conveys the idea of making something alive again. When we look at a pasture, our goal is to improve it. More good plants that the cows like to eat and fewer bare spots. Ultimately, what grows on top of the soil just indicates how healthy a pasture is below ground. The bacteria and fungii that grow below ground are just beginning to be studied, but the principles of grazing a pasture and then letting it rest are just common sense. By frequently rotating, the good forage has a chance to grow back, and the parasites are deprived of a host.
Why does all this matter? Because healthy soils grow healthy plants, which makes healthier meats!
